Postage costs

I am looking at a startup which involves posting books to clients and was wondering if anyone knew of cost effective postage.

I have looked into An post but anyone know of others taking account that a standard parcel up to 1kg in ireland with an post is €6.25

If you are talking about significant volumes, there are organisations that offer turn-key distribution solutions (packaging, labelling, delivery, tracking) or try one of the bigger courier companies, GLS, UPS, DHL, etc, depending on where you want the books delivered to.
