I'd like to move a galvanize shed from its present location a mile down the road where i get better use out of it.I saw on a paper in New Zealand they have lorries designed to move such a shed all they do is park the lorry under the shed tie it to cut pillars at base and lift it down to new location. This seems like and easy low cost way of moving a shed.Is this possible?
I have a builder that will move it for me but he is going to have to take it a part to move it.

A few questions if you please.

  • Is this a residential or agricultural shed.
  • Is it attached directly to a habitable house
  • What size is it in sq.m.
  • Is it rectangular.
  • If so, what its its narrow dimension and long dimension.
Unless taking it down and erecting it elsewhere comes under some form exempted development schedule you may need planning permission to do this.
