Executor is obliged to maintain value of estate and I assume selling a car is similar to selling farm animals/produce. As long as the money is held to distribute and that the asset is not sold under value.

Some good advice there but it’s more to do with how best to dispose of a car rather than the specific question of whether or not you have to wait for probate.
