Possible to repair laptop charger cord?

The dog has chewed through the cord of my laptop charger in 2 places. I fiddled with the wires and managed to get it working for a few days.

Now it's not working at all. Is it possible to repair this i.e. could a handyman/electrician repair it or would I need to buy a whole new charger? They seem to be very expensive (€90).

I have about just 1 hour of battery time left.

Many thanks in advance.

Something similar happened to me, I bought a new one off eBay for €20, possibly the safest option.

yes anyone handy with a soldering iron should be able to fix it. e.g. tv/satellite repairer, house alarm installer etc.
as a last resort you can buy a universal laptop charger - check ebay.

Thanks for replies.
We spliced the wires together somehow and it's working fine now but I will buy a new one just in case.
