Possibility of non-standard mortgage terms in yrs

I've been playing around with the various calculators that have been linked to and I was wonderng, is it possible to arrange mortgages over say 19, 22 or 23 years not just the 25 or 30 etc that you normally hear about?
 
I just got an 18 year one for a project. 3 years interest only and 15 years repayment. You can get whatever you want.
 
And even if the bank refuse to give you the particular period you desire, once you have a variable rate loan, you can make additional payments to clear the loan early as you require.
 
Just get a variable rate mortgage with the longest term they will give you and pay it off at whatever rate you want.
