Portugal august- have flights need apartment

Have booked flights to Portugal for the 4th to 11th of august for 2 adults and 2 kids aged 10 and 12. Want to book an apartment somewhere suitable for families and not too expensive. Any suggestions on where/how to book?

We used travel republic last yr for accommodation...flew into faro and had privately booked greenbus think it was called, picked shared option but ended up having little taxi bus to ourselves...see their facebook page got a 11percent discount code....

we stayed in complex 10min walk outside vilamoura and hotel ran free bus three times a day into centre. Lovely area but we did find eating out expensive for what one got....

You will find lots of options for self catering on ownersdirect.com or holidaylettings.com. maybe try hotel/aparthotel in Alvor. I hear it's very nice.
