Portmarnock

Hi all,

Just looking for some "insider" knowledge on the Portmarnock area, in particular housing in and around an estate called The Dunes.
Are these houses nice and is it an older ade group in this estate?Seems to be in a good location for schools etc

The Dunes would be 70's housing, but quite large and located right in the village but most of the roads would be set back a bit, so quiet.

Haven't been there in a while but I think they were all detached. I guess at that age you just have to watch out for hidden maintenance issues.

Can't remember if there is access to the beach from there, if not though it's only a few mins walk up the road near the Country Club hotel.

Be aware that the train station is quite far from the village.

The community school is located a good few mins walk up the hill but the village primary school is right beside the Dunes.
