Hi I am just wondering if it is possible to port your mortgage from one property to another property here in Ireland. We are trying to move home and need the same amount of mortgage as we currently have in order to move. I was talking to a broker and she suggested asking our existing bank to port our mortgage to the new property. Do you think this is something that they would do?? Under the current limitations on mortgages we wouldn't qualify for the mortgage we have now but we have our current mortgage 15 years and have never missed a payment and can show evidence of savings too. Thanks.

Lenders can make exceptions to the lending rules and might do so as you have such a good record.
