Pop up issue

I have a new laptop with windows 8 and I am using chrome but I seem to be getting loads of pop-up's every time I try to open a new page, I checked the pop up in settings and below is ticked
Do not allow any site to show pop-ups (recommended) ,I also have norton anti virus that came with the new laptop, any ideas, tks

Sounds like some form of spyware infection. Are you sure Norton is running and active? Have you got Norton to scan your disk and see what it finds?

Download and run the free version of Malwarebytes, delete whatever it finds. That should sort it out.

As well as the above, check for any browser add-ons / spyware as well.
