When I switched on my pc today, I got this message. I hadn't started any packages such as Outlook or Firefox.

It makes an annoying beep every 30 seconds or so, which means I have to turn off the sound.

I will get someone to look at it next week but do I need to worry about it in the meantime?

Seems to be something to do with my eircom broadband "Usage meter".

I have switched it off and that seems to have fixed it.

Thanks for that info Brendan. A year on and it's happening to my laptop.
I have been plagued with that bloody message since yesterday morning. I'm going to remove the Eircom usage meter now.
