Hi
I am currently in the process of purchasing a small bit of land in an area called Michalowice, just outside Krakow. The land is enough to build one large house which I subsequently hope to sell. I am wondering if anyone can recommend a good English speaking solicitor and arcitecht.

Regards

Might be an idea to get a solicitor and check planning permission BEFORE parting with any money.

Hi Big Rog

Thanks for reply, I have no itention of parting with the money before solicitor decides everything is above board. Im happy with the land and area etc. just need to get solicitor to confirm everything is ok.

I'm currently buying a property in Krakow. My solicitor is Teresa Kielar - realnosc@kki.pl. I have found her to be excellent and have no hesitation in recommending her. If you do contact her, tell her you got her name from Aidan.

regards,

Babylon

Thanks Aidan/Babylon

Ive just sent her an email, thanks for the referral. What did you purchase as a matter of interest? Did it all go smooothly?

Cheers

Hi Babylon. I would be interested also in how you are getting on with your property purchase - whether you bought an old or new property, etc. We are thinking of buying an appartment and have got some information but will need a lot more before deciding to look at specific properties.
Twister: You know that there currently is a skilled labour shortage in Poland in general. They are trying to have the stadiums (stadiaa?) built in time for the 2012 Olympics and know the one in Warsaw won't be ready in time unless they introduce legislation to allow them to recruit workers from Asia and the former Soviet countries. It's hard enough to get builders in Ireland and we have the Polish tradesmen!
