Was in France last week, friend wanted to give me some of his music on cd. Asked me was mine here a + or - player. Never noticed that before but on the cds for sale was a plus or minus sign in France. Can't find anything here to tell me which he should use. Any ideas?

Never heard of a CD+ format.
There's no mention of it on the CDR FAQ.

CD-R is what you want if reading on a PC.

If using a hi-fi CD recorder, you will need a slightly different disc which is has the words "Digital Audio" on it.

Crutchfield advisor says:
Not all blank CDs are created equal
Lots of stores sell blank discs that are intended for use with computer-based CD recorders. However, blank computer CDs are not compatible with audio CD recorders, so be sure to use blank audio discs (the logo on the packaging must include the words "Digital Audio").

you sure it was cd-r and not a dvd-r, recordable dvd's come in + and - varieties...

Could maybe be that then. We had a bit of a communication thing as he had no English and I only had my school French! Thanks!
