plumbing

Just put an offer on a 1950s semi in Stillorgan. House has been almost untouched since, so needs rennovation. Builder looked at it. Said looking at about E90k to do what I want to it, including 10k for rewiring, and E20k for replacing gun barrell piping and new boiller. Is the plumbing - replacing the piping expensive, given that a new boilder would probably be only 4k. Trying to get costs down to see whether it is worth all the effort of rennovation and the cost of it.

My parents house has the gun barrell piping and it only has a specific life span (30/35/40 years - not sure) and then the pipes will start to leak.

They've already had a few minor leaks, it's just a matter of time before the whole thing will have to be ripped up and replaced....

If renovating a house - it is best to sort the issue now.

If you are trying to keep the costs down it is best to seek the advice of individal professionals than take one trades-persons advice on all matters.
