Hello,

wondering if anyone can offer any advice on this...

flap valve broken on syphon and it appears to be glued to to the cistern, so i can't get the syphon out of the cistern to replace the flap valve...

if i can't remove the old syphon, i''l have to replace the cistern, and as it's a close couple, that probably means i'll have to replace the toilet as well.

would anyone have any solutions?

any suggestions appreciated!

The syphon is probably sealed to the cistern with white silicone; this can be removed by using a sharp blade (scalpel or craft knife) to break the seal; should come away quite easily I would think.

Thanks a million Carpenter - fixed at weekend and no leaks yet! delighted no need for plumber!
