Pls Help, Been offered 2 days work. Worried about JSB

Hi

Im on Job seekers benifit, I signed off the dole for the month of December as I was offered Christmas work.

That was fine. Didn't get JSB for last 4 weeks.

Received payment from them today, which was great as working didn't seem to mess things up.

But now the company I was working for asked me if I would be available to work the weekend.

I don't mind, but what do I do about the social welfare now. Its only for 2 days and Im worried that this company will be the type that could ring you at the drop of a hat to work 1 or 2 days from time to time. This is going to mess things up big time with dole office.

I can't refuse work but I need my social welfare to stay afloat as I have big mortgage etc.

Do I just ring them when ever I work a day, and they dock me for the particular day or what. Its not like its constant work, and it does get payed through the tax system.

Yep...then you just get docked for the day you worked.
It was pretty seamless for my family member.

You will switch to signing weekly dockets in arrears. inform SW oid your new regime.

if one of the days you work is a Sunday then this won't come out of your JSB and you will only be docked the Saturday as far as I understand it.

Yes, if you work a sunday it's not taken into consideration.
So Sat is your only concern.
