I've got some ground at the back of the house that's never been used for anything (apart from growing weeds!!) & I'd like to get it ploughed & rotivated.Am I too late this year to do this? Also, what would i be able to plant this time of year?'Too late for spuds? Thanks!

Its not too late to start - I set carrots / parsnips / onions just last weekend - It might be for spuds though

If I get a local farmer to plough/rotivate,is there much more to it than that?

Wouldnt be too late for spuds either, I got all my veg down two weeks ago. The ground was still a bit too wet before that. If its not to large of an area you could hire a self proppelled rotavator and give it a thorough going over yourself.
