I ordered a Joystick for a PC from Play.com.
After a month waiting i got a DVD 'Silent Running' Instead.
The docket says its a Joystick though.
Finding it hard to contact them about it now. They say to wait 14 days, it'll be Christmas by then

You can give them a call. By the way, I didn't think play.com delivered electronics and gadgets to Ireland?

Will second ccovich's message. Call them - I tried emailing them with a problem some months ago and that didn't work. Eventually had to call them and they sorted my problem out straight away. Also agree with ccovich - I thought that they don't ship "gadgets" ie non-disc products outside of the UK.

I had the same expierience as Hansov. Ordered a console controller which never arrived. Sent a load of emails - no response. Called them one Saturday and explained the situation; dispatched another one that day no questions.

They don't seem to be keen to contact people. They insist that you call them.

Having said that, I'm pretty sure that I sent them an e-mail about a CD I ordered that never arrived, and they e-mailed back to say that a replacement would be dispatched. Generally I find play.com to be pretty good, although it pays to monitor prices on CD WOW (especially with all their €1 off offers) and sendit.com. I used all three sites for buying pressies this year. The GBP/EUR exchange rate also has an impact on the final price for us Paddys as well of course.

@ Judge-did you get the console controller delivered to an Irish address?

Look on the bright side. Silent Running, starring Bruce Dern if memory serves, is one of the all-time great films.

If its listed under the "Gadgets"/"Electronics" tab on the site, it will be flagged on checkout. But in the case of PS2 accessories etc, they appear on the corresponding "Games" tab, and so their system considers those games & happily ships them...

Ah, fair enough. Thanks for the explanation. I'm looking forward to the day when play.com do start delivering gadgets and electronics etc. to Ireland.

sorry ccovich been away since my last post. yes it was an irish addresss; it was (as Berni says) listed under games and the hardware sub heading. No issues around ordering it to Ireland.
