Hi

Does anyone know how long it might take to recieve planning permission for a straightforward extension, with no anticiapated objections etc? We are submitting soon and want to commence works as soon as possible.

Thanks

The position is that the council must either make a decision within 8 weeks of receipt of the application or look for more information. If they look for more info then they have a max. period of 4 weeks to make a decision after the info is given to them.

If its a straight forward job then I would think you would have a "decision to grant" in about 6 to 7 weeks.

After the decision is made and the notification of same posted out there is a 4 week appeal period - either the applicant or a third party have the right to appeal a decision. If there is no appeal within 4 weeks they then issue you with a "final grant of permission"
