Planning query for Airbnb in a RPZ

I'm looking at buying a house that is situated in a rent pressure zone which was built in the 1950's. Short term holiday letting such as Airbnb is something I'm considering for this property. The external footprint of the property is unchanged from when it was built, no extensions were built and therefore no planning was required since it was originally built. The county council in the area where this house is located have been clamping down on short term holiday lettings using the planning laws against people, saying that you can't do holiday letting if you didn't receive planning for such an enterprise when original or when any subsequent planning was obtained.
Would I be able to get around this lack of short term rental planning laws as the first planning laws only came into force in 1963 and this property is there since the 50's.
Thank you

Any use?

Highly unlikely unless it was originally built as a holiday home or had been in use as such over a long period.

As a new poster, please bear in mind that the purpose of AAM is for posters to seek financial & other advice while complying with tax, planning, and other laws. Its not here as a help for anyone who wants "to get around" laws of any kind.

Only if the property has been used for short-term letting since before 1963.

If it hasn't, and if you now start using it for short-term letting, that's a change of use for which planning permission is required. It's irrelevant that the change of use relates to a pre-1963 property.
