We're in the process of acquiring a site in the Dunloaghaire/Rathdown council area. The site already has full planning permission subject to a few conditions. 3 of the conditions relate to charges that must be paid. They want to charge us 20k for Roads, Drainage and Public Amenities. We can't really afford to pay 20k on top of the cost of building the house.

Has anyone had any success in appealing these kind of charges?

AFAIK these are set charges that apply to all new builds like yours and are therefore not open to appeal.

Yes, these are fixed charges which come as part of the planning permission document itself.

Had you looked the planning approval documents, it is clearly stated there.

Ive got similiar planning in DL/RD area and these are listed

Hi cdev, yep, I'm afraid there's no way around this, I got pp during the summer in Co Cork and had to pay it too. The charges vary from co. to co. and are based on the sq footage of the house. Your council should be able to give you a break down of the charges and how they arrive at that figure, but it has to be paid.
