Places to stay in Dundee or Perth

Just wondering if anyone has any recommenations for places to stay in Perth or Dundee in Scotland for a couple in their 60's, i.e. quite, relaxing. Must have a bar as they enjoy a drink before retiring for the evening. Doesn't have to be central as they will have a car so anywhere in the general facinity would be good.

I come from Perth and I can recommend 2 places.
The George which is in the centre of the town but fairly quiet

I can recommend Murrayshall Hotel in Scone which is just outside Perth. Its got a nice golf course as well if you're into that.
