Place to stop on journey from Dublin to Achill

We are heading to Achill for the weekend and are looking for a child friendly place to break the journey and have a bite to eat.

Route to Achill

Hi Commercial
We are going to take the motorway, head from Castlebar and then to Achill from there. Are thinking that we will need to stop around Longford, but not sure a good place. Any ideas?

There's a nice pub that serves food just at the bridge over the Shannon in Tarmonbarry (just past Longford) that I use if I'm going to stop.

Thanks for that suggestions, someone else mentioned that to me, Keenan's I think? Problem is that we are travelling today, Good Friday so all of the pubs will be closed. Am packing some jam sandwiches just in case we get stuck......
