Hi everyone,
I was made redundant in '09 and have had a few temporary jobs since then and am currently umemployed and on job seekers benefit.
I am seperated from my husband since around then, and we own a house together which he pays for and i moved back to my parents house as i couldnt afford to live in the house, my name is still on the house as he cant afford to get the mortgage on his own and doesnt want to sell it.
I have never gotten on with my father (we have major issues, cant go into details but these issues are serious and unresolvable) and i know my parents dont want my living here to go on for much longer.
I am still trying to service debts i have with my job seekers benefit, albeit at reduced repayments, and have to buy my own food and give my parents money towards esb etc, as they are not well off. I would hope to go back to college now in Sept if possible. I cant afford to rent on my own for six months while on job seekers benefit and therefore cant move out of my parents and get rent allowance and i cant go onto the housing list as im still joint owner of a property even though separated and not living there.
Does anyone know if the housing authorities are planning on changing their guidelines due to the amount of people separating and negative equity etc, or am i homeless if i leave my parents?
