Pipes creaking

When I turn on the hot water the pipes are making a creaking/clicking noise. I have lived in my house for over 2 years and this noise only started about 2 months ago. It wasn't much at first but now it's a joke.

The noise is apparent for cold water too but definitely not as much.

Does anyone know what is wrong and what can be done?

Yeah - I tried it. And it helps with trying to solve the problem.

What I'm trying to get to is why the noise hasn't been there for 2 years and now is. Is it shoddy materials?

It is probably expansion and contraction of pipes
even cold water pipes move a bit. They are usually laying adjacent to hot water or heating pipe so get warm and expand. When you run cold water in bathroom it suddenly gets colder and cotracts.

Cost driven heating works would not usually include below first floor pipe lagging or felt pads between pipes and joists.

Possibly wear and tear on the clips that hold the pipes in place...2 years worth of movement might have loosened a pipe enough to make it creak now !

Quick update here... my tennant has been leaving the immersion on for days at a time. Do you think that this is affecting it?
