Phrase - 'Current Economic Climate'

Ok, there is nothing wrong with the phrase itself but...

I drives me mad when people use it thinking they are making themselves sound intelligent, when clearly they are not.

Sometimes I feel like saying, in the current economic climate you still have 2 brain cells and it does not make your point valid
