Photo Trouble

I have Nero7 on my PC. For the last few days I cannot open my photos using Nero Photo Snap Viewer. Never had this trouble before. I find the Nero support site very confusing. Help please?
 
What changed on the PC between this working and not working?
What precisely happens when you try to view your photos using this software compared to the normal situation?
 
The only thing that I can think of is recently installing an external DVD Re writer. When I try to open a photo Nero just tells me it cannot open it.
