Was it eircom that was the telecom provider that cut you off, I've a friend working with them in thier call centre and how it works is a certain specified time they do a mass disconnection on every customer whose bill is overdue at that exact point(which is only 14 days from the issue).
So don't know how many but imagine could be talking of a thousand customers or so at a time, another reason I now pay the line rental to TalkTalk (same price) coz I don't think people should put up with that crap.
