Phone keys freezing.

This message keeps coming up on my Nokia phone. - Speed dial not assigned. Assign now.- All the keys freeze up. When I turn it off completely (as thats the only thing I can do) and turn it back on its ok for a little while and then the same keeps happening again. Any idea what the problem might be.
 
6300 I think but not sure as theres nothing on the phone and i'm only going on a box I found which may belong to a previous phone so not sure exactly.
 
Just got onto where I bought it. So its Nokia 7230 purchased last year. Guy thinks it may need a software update and said get onto Nokia.
 
The problem seems to have disappeared all of a sudden. Another thing that arose was when texting I could not use the letters r or s and today also that came right. Anybody and ideas on what this is all about.
