Does anyone know of a cheaper way of phoning or texting to a mobile phone in the UK? If calling land-line to land-line the use of any of the phone cards substantially reduces the cost but this doesn't have the same benefit if calling a mobile in the UK. Is there anyway of reducing same? Other half is in the UK hence lots of texting and horrendous mobile bills....

thanks

If you're an O2 customer, you can send 250 free texts every month via their website (registration required) to any mobile number - not just an Irish one. Very useful for overseas numbers!

Vodafone offer free online texts too, but think it's only to Irish mobile numbers (it was when I was a vodafone customer).

From Vodafone.ie:

Messaging & email

Webtext

Now you can send 300 FREE Webtext messages every month to any national mobile number.
