Phone Calls Seeking Donations

Every month or two we receive a call on our landline from (don't want to name them here just in case) what appears to be an organisation raising money for one of the Irish hospitals. I am wondering if there is any way that I can stop this from happening?

We are already registered on the National Directory Opt Out Database (sorry, can't link to it in this post as it's my first) for marketing calls, which to be honest has pretty much eradicated these types of calls, but this one keeps slipping through. Maybe it doesn't fall in to the category of marketing calls, but either way it's annoying.

I'm pretty sure people will know what (and indeed whom) I am talking about as I am sure they are targetting thousands of households in the country.

Any suggestions?

Have you asked the organisation making the call to take you off their call list and never call you again?

No I haven't yet, but I did a bit of reading after I posted earlier and I have sent them an Email requesting just that, so I'll see where I get with that and then try another avenue if that doesn't work.
