pharmacy and GP practice

i am a pharmacist and i am going to open/buy a pharmacy.
my wife is a hospital doctor and i was thinking of getting her to open a gp surgery adjacent to my pharmacy. there are rules that prevent the spouse or dependant children of a pharmacist from owning a gp practice unless they are doctors.
we would have to employ a gp to work in the practice.
does anyone have any idea if the pharmacy regulator and medical council would allow such a set up?

If your wife trains as a GP, she can open her own surgery but she may not get a GMS panel unless one becomes vacant. She could not be a director of your pharmacy if she gets a panel in the same HSE area. Other than that, you will find local pharmacists will object to planning permission for your pharmacy on 'business' grounds.` Other than that you are on your own. Good luck with it. Slim

she is not a gp she is a NCHD, so she would be employing a gp.
from my undering of the pharmacy act 2007 it says that as long as your spouse is a doctor (not necessarily a gp) that its okay.
