Peugeot 306 1999 indicators fast flashing 20 seconds after central locking

Hi, we have a 306 and about 20 seconds after locking the doors with the remote key the indicators start constantly fast flashing.

If central locking is activated by putting the key in the lock all is ok.

Any suggestion appreciated. Thanks.

Update, (I couldn't see how to delete this post) I think that what is happening is the fast flashing is actually the alarm coming on the but siren has been disconnect/removed by the previous owner.

This is exactly what is happening. Some of the 306's had an alarm from factory. The siren should be in the engine bay. you may be able to turn it off using your key.
