Petrol tampering

Hi,
I have reason to believe that a petrol station near me may be tempering with the petrol they are selling. I spoke to my father last night about my car stuttering and having a lack of power every time I fill up my car from said garage. My father told me that the garage in question was prosecuted about 10 years ago for petrol tampering. Is there a government department who monitors/regulates this or is it a question for the Gardai?

Are you sure it's not dirty petrol.? My uncle used to work in Whitegate and he one told me that some petrol stations bought the dregs of tanks cheaply. (no idea if that is true or not)

That could very well be the case. However, if there's a body who monitors this perhaps they could take a look...anyone have a name?

Revenue/Customs

This used to happen with a local cheaper petrol place; the theory I heard was that they were cheaper, therefore sold more petrol, and had more deliveries, which churned up grit in the underground tanks.
