I had the same problem - much more convenient to have your own. Electric is less costly and easier to start - doesn't mind long periods of inactivity between jobs! Petrol obviously independent of power supply but heavier and more expensive. I considered buying a petrol and selling again when the jobs were done but in practice they never are! In the end I went with electric. I think Argos did a small one but your local hardware/builder's yard will often have an offer. Electric could be €200-300, petrol nearly twice that.
