Hi foxylady -

I was unable to locate the classifieds on the Irish Independent website - so I bought the paper this afternoon and have it cut out.
Its located p24 of the Classifieds right next to the Movies Cinema listings.
Under Legal Section.

In today's Sunday Times it is reported that Conneely Construction has filed a High Court case agains Laragan over the termination of its contract to construct the development in Santry.

Yeah and Laragan are using the termination of that contract as one of their long line of excuses for the delays.

Latest Update - an article in today's Irish Times relates to this High Court Petition against Laragan Development Ltd -

"Building Firm should have been more open"

I am not a legal expert so cannot be sure if this implies that Laragan Development Ltd will become insolvent shortly - but it seems that a dispute centers around a snagging issue with Velfac Windows Ltd for a development called Carrickmines Green?

There is another High Court Petition against Laragan by the Plantiff "Coneelly Construction" - who were the main contractors in Milner Square Santry but whose contract has been terminated by Laragan. I am not sure if Velfac Ltd are a sub-contractor to Coneelly Construction, or if Coneelly and Velfac Ltd are two separate High Court Petitions.

"The judge said she would adjourn the petition hearing to next Monday in the “general interest of the company’s creditors” and “in the public interest”.

It more seems like they are getting another chance to be honest

Laragan Developments Ltd has been granted examinership on Friday by the High Court.

How does this affect buyers in Milners Square? And what are our options now?

It probably just leaves them in limbo for another 100 days of uncertainty.

That is worrying - if a company is going "mislead" at the High Court and to a Judge, then it shows that what they tell their business partners, suppliers, contractors, people who have bought homes off them, can not rely on the accuracy of any correspondence or information that is provided to them!

No business should leave themselves open to this type of bad publicity.

Has anyone bought in Carrickmines Green and is waiting on completion STILL?
