Permanent TSB Online A/C Setup for non-PTSB Customer

Hi All,

I am thinking of opening a PTSB Online Savings A/C.

The problem is I am not a PTSB customer at all and I don't want to move my current a/c to them.

There is very little information on their website for new customers.

Has anyone been a non-PTSB customer and got this online a/c setup without having to change current a/c to them? I am with Ulster and don't want to change.

What steps did you need to do?

It can be done.

3 ways.

1) Open a 'Everyday' Current account (you clearly don't want to do this) or
2) Open a 'Demand' account as well. (There is no fees here) or
3) Deal with cheques. See last bullet point below.

Permanent TSB: Online Regular Saver
4.00% on €1 to €50,000

• Annual interest is credited to the account on the first Business Day after the 20th of November.
• Monthly lodgements up to €1,000
• This account is only available online.
• Withdrawals from this account can only be made to another PTSB account and then to a non PTSB account OR alternatively by cheque. Hence, you must keep another PTSB account open if you want to make the withdrawal electronically. This does not have to be a PTSB current account which may incur fees, this can be a PTSB 'Demand Deposit Account' and the balance can be zero in this account. If you do not have either of these types of account you can make a withdrawal by writing to permanent tsb Deposit Services, Carysfort Avenue, Blackrock, Dublin 4 and you will receive a cheque in the post.

Can you transfer money from non-ptsb current account directly to online savings account instantly?

How do you transfer money from the demand deposit account to non-ptsb account?
-is it online
-is it instant

Takes 1 business day (since the new SEPA rules were introduced on January 1 2012).
