Pension removed after receiving lump sum

My Aunt who is 76, single and living alone was getting a means tested old age pension. She unexpectedly received a sum of money approx €100,000. Social welfare has now taken the pension away on the basis of the cash she now has. She has no other income/money, no property or assets. She is very worried about the situation.
Is there anything she can do to get the pension back?
Is there an amount of cash that she can have and still get a pension?
Are there any other benefits she may be entitled to?
What happens when the money runs out? Will she have to reapply and be reassessed. This could take months.

In addition, anyone know anything about a living alone allowance. Is evenyone over a certain age entitled to it regardless of income? How much is it? How do you apply for it?

Any help would be appreciated.

If it's a non contributory old age pension then this would be means tested and possibly affected by the receipt of a lump sum. If it is a contributoru (PRSI contribution related) old age pension then no means test should apply. These liks might be of use:
