Pension on medical retirement

I've recently retired on medical grounds from HSE 17yrs service. I worked for HSE in ireland but live in Northern Ireland. My HSE pension is approximately 180 euros a week, seems a bit miserable as sickness benefit is 220. My question is should I be entitled to invalidity pension from ROI? Also a second question. Although I'm 17 years with HSE the said they recognise 15 years, as the last two years is sickness following cancer and they said pension is not contributed to on sickness benefit. However my pay slip shows that my pension payments continued albeit smaller amounts. I'm I justified in going back to request this is reviewed?

Did you apply for Invalidity Pension? If not you should do so immediately. You can download an application form here: https://assets.gov.ie/26960/3c5fe0e0216f42e09abd80b9cd2402d8.pdf . Bring it to your nearest Intreo Office.

I suggest that you should also contact the Invalidity Claims central Office right away. Contact details in this link: https://borderpeople.info/a-z/invalidity-pension-in-ireland.html

Of course I am working on the presumption that you are not receiving an equivalent UK disability payment, eg, Incapacity Benefit or Employment and Support Allowance.
