Is a lump sum paid from a voluntary contribution fund classed as a redundancy payment when you apply for Jobseeker's Benefit?

It will only be treated as a redundancy payment if it has been paid as a result of a situation of redundancy. This would be different from a pension plan which pays out as a result of reaching retirement age.

Also in case this applies, the disqualification from Jobseekers Benefit for those in receipt of redundancy payments in excess of 50,000 does not apply to those over 55.

Of course, for Jobseekers payment you will have to show that you are genuinely seeking and are available for full-time work.

thank you for the info was not shure on that.will be applying jobseekers and am seeking work
