Penalty points- who to contact for expiry

Can anyone tell me who I contact to check if my penalty points have expired. It's about 3 yrs now but I cant be sure. I'm told many people are not informed when time has expired and it will make a difference of €50 on my insurance.
 
Sorry. Just noticed someone else posted a similar question below, but didn't get a definite answer.
 
AFAIK its the dept of environment who can tell you that - told to me by a member of An Garda Siochana!!;)

General queries on penalty points may be made to Driver Licensing,Dept of Transport,Government Offices,Ballina,Co Mayo,ph.1890-416141 or 096-78288.Quote your penalty points ref no.
Enquires in relation to your licence record should be made to your local Motor Tax Office.
