Hello, am about to apply for a job and the application form asks to reveal any convictions and in brackets says 'including traffice offences'. A year ago I received 2 penalty points for speeding - via a notice in the post with a fixed fine of which I paid. Was wondering if this would be a conviction?

Thanks.

You can only be convicted in a court of law. A fixed penalty is just that and does not constitute a conviction. They are probably looking for people who have been convicted of dangerous driving or drink driving. I would leave this section blank. AFAIK, an employer has no legal entitlement to know about penalty points.
