Just wondering - we changed pmt frequency to bi-weekly during the year- over the xmas we are closed from 21/12 to 3/1 - however due to get pmt (via chq) on 28/12 - what is the norm here can anyone advise?

Varies from company to company --- most that i've worked with would pay before christmas - but your own payroll dept should confirm quickly enough

think where I am they would pay you the 15th as normal and then run the 28th payroll on the 22nd if you know what I mean

But it really does depend on the company - Payroll might be working on the 27th 28th in your place to process it

windup - that sounds about what i think will happen....

no purple - just got notification of hols dates so wondering to myself when paydate will be :)

yes... i know that.....

but just wondering what is the norm... so at least i can compromise or put a suggestion forward........it was only a question......

The norm is to pay you as close to the date as possible. Anywhere I have worked (paid monthly mostly) have announced before December when the payroll will be paid. If the accounts department is open on the 28th there is a chance that they may pay you on this date but I'd say that you will be paid on the 21st as that is generally regarded as the last working day before Christmas.
