Hi Folks,

I have recently started having problems when I power up my PC. I keep getting the following message
'Windows has found the following new hardware. Windows can automatically search for and install software that supports your hardware. If your hardware came with installation media insert it now and click NEXT'

The message does not indicate what is the new hardware. I have tried clicking Next and it sounds like it is searching the CD drive but nothing happens.

I would appreciate any help/advise on what this problem might be and how I might go about correcting.

Thanks

Try Start -> right click on My Computer -> Manage -> Device Manager and see if there are any devices listed with a yellow question mark or red X icon.

Try running something like [broken link removed].

Unfortunately the pc doesn't boot up as far as loading the desktop and allowing me to be able to access the start menu. I have been able to look at Task Manager via tried Control Alt Delete to see what programs are running but nothing appears in Task Manager.
