Payment - how much to put on a stamp?

Hope someone can help with the following:

The company I work for has a pub which is closing in a couple of weeks. The manager of the pub is currently pregnant and will be just 18 weeks pregnant when the pub closes. The boss wants to make her a payment each week to bring her up to 24 weeks and then at least she can claim maternity benefit from there. Is there a minimum payment to put a stamp on for 6 weeks or will any payment e.g. €100 per week suffice?

Think that you should consider the legal issues of artificially creating a claim which one is not entitled to!!!
 
You should not make a false claim.

However, although the pub is closed, surely the manager can employ her for a further few weeks to help in the wind-down of the business?

We've already checked with welfare and they have advised us that we are allowed to do this, it's the company's business if it wants to make payments to her for any number of extra weeks. She will also be completing work of some sort for any payment that she gets.

I've also got info that the minimum to put on a class A stamp is €38 per week.

Do you mean payment on top of state Maternity or PRSI? Surely the former!
 
What I mean is that if we made her redundant when the pub closes, unless she got another job, she would not be eligible for maternity benefit.

However if we employ her for a number of weeks after the pub closes for light duties, we can bring her up to 24weeks, at which stage she will be eligible for maternity benefit.
 
I assume you mean to continue her employment on reduced hours for the extra weeks in which case she may be entitled to JB for the days she is not working
