Payment by cheque to affect mortgage chances?

I have recently changed bank account and as a result, my employer has advised me that my wages will take 3 days longer to reach my account. She has offered to pay me by cheque instead which I can lodge myself but I'm just wondering if this will have an adverse affect when I go to get a mortgage? Do banks like to see wages/salaries paid directly to your bank account?

I have had my salary paid by cheque until my accountants firm was dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century. It wont be a problem as long as they get lodged at approx the same time every month and that the bank dont see the history/lodgements missed or unduly late.

Thanks for that reply. I could always just leave it go through the bank 3 days later but I have a standing order that comes out on my usual pay day but this would mean that there wouldn't be money there to cover it. If the bank allowed the standing order to go through and I was overdrawn for the 3 days, presumably I would be charged a fee for the 3 days?

I presume there would be a charge if you dont have an overdraft facility in place with the bank.

Going back to your original post, what was the timeframe to get money to you previous account? What is the reason for the delay?
