I am a PAYE worker. I will be earning an extra couple of hundred euro per month as a result of work I will be doing on weekends/evenings (maintaining and updating a number of websites for some companies)

Do I need to register as self employed for this or can I just declare the income as extra income on a Form 12 at the end of the year?

As I am not registered as self employed, can I officially issue receipts/invoices for this work?

Thanks in advance

might be better off to file tr1 to register for self employment. no need to register for vat till over €35 k plus. if in full time paye, main them is to safe close on 50% for any income tax bill in due course. if self employed file form 11 in future with self employed and paye on one return.

I don't agree.

@tubes, as an experienced computer user did you try using the very useful search facility (fourth buton from left) included in the menu-bar by the designers?

This topic has been covered many times before, at a guess at least twice a week.

Yes, although most threads are specific to the OP's who each have differing personal circumstances.

I was actually going to expand on my initial query in this thread rather than hijack another, to include other personal circumstances.

But why bother.
