PAYE Refund? - Only working 5 months in Ireland this year

I'll be leaving my current job at the end of May as I will be moving abroad for some time.

I will almost definitely work again within the EU (France, Luxembourg, Belgium...) before the end of the calendar year.

My question is am I entitled to claim a PAYE refund? I.e. to have my income for the year reassessed based on the 5months income put against the annual figures for tax credit/cut off points?

I did this a number of years ago while in college when I was not going to work from approx October to December - but that was not working at all, not just not in this country - does that make a difference?

And secondly, will I have to wait until the end of the year to receive the refund? I have a vague memory that I did not have to the last time and that I just had to sign a declaration that I would not be working again in that tax year, & that if I did, well, it would be reclaimed(& I'd probably get done for attempted fraud or something....)

Finally, apologies if this has been covered, the search function is failing and just giving me blank page when I hit search.

Thankyou. Thats great news - P50 rings a bell now actually.

And thanks for the search advice.
