most of my income is from paye source, however I derive some small additional income from self-employment. Must I pay prsi and health levi on all of the additional income even though I already reached the ceiling for prsi and health levi payments through the paye system?

Hi,

Unfortunately you must pay PRSI and health levy on all self-employed income regardless of whether you have reached the PRSI ceiling. The ceiling only applies to employment income (PRSI class A etc.). As a self-employed individual you have to pay both PRSI and levies as an S class contributor on all other income (i.e. non-employment income).
