Looking to borrow 600-700 euro until payday at the end of the month. It seems there are no real payday loan providers in ireland - can someone suggest an alternative? Pawn broker is not an option as don't have any possessions of significant value that i can part with.

Thanks

May we be truly thankful!

two other options - ask your bank for an overdraft facility or alternatively ask your employer for an advance on salary (not all employers will do this).

Nevertheless even if you rang the CU and explained your predicament they may help, you probably would have to get there though to do the paperwork. Some are open Saturdays.

Overdraft facility is expensive but probably your best bet. An advance from your employer would be at their discretion but would be cheaper - if you can avail of that I would. Though bear in mind that it means you are borrowing from your future self and will come from your future paycheque.

There is no harm asking your credit union anyway so I would do so if you still have an account with them. They would certainly give you a far better rate.

Is there any possibility of negotiating an affordable repayment schedule for whatever the debt is? Is there any friends or family you could approach?

A far more expensive alternative would be a moneylender, the Central Bank register can be found here under Register of Moneylenders. I do not advocate this approach. http://registers.centralbank.ie/DownloadsPage.aspx

First try to put the debt off until you can pay it when you get paid yourself, it may be stressful but will be cheaper for you and you can always try accessing credit otherwise in the meantime.
