I have found on the oasis.gov.ie site a way to save on stamp duty. If you are selling your interest in the family home & your partner is staying in the home you can be exempted from stamp duty making you a first time buyer again. If all is well in next week I will save 8800 euros which I would have had to borrow. Hope this helps some one out there.
